LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24,
2006--Future Medium, Inc., a company traditionally
known for renting and servicing high performance
visual effects equipment, introduces its new product
line "FM Products" at the National Association of
Broadcasters Convention (NAB April 24-27). FM Products
include high performance Workstations, Blade Servers,
as well as large capacity NAS storage solutions.
Future Medium has developed several
computer based products using Solid State Disks (SSD).
This technology has been used in other sectors of
business that require high computing capability. The
financial markets, oil exploration and aerospace have
integrated SSD to their respective industries
successfully. FM Products is leading the pack by
offering SSD on all of its product line and is the
first to make this technology available to visual
effects and post production industries.
Solid State Disks (SSD) are high
performance storage devices that contain no moving
parts. These devices use flash memory chips instead of
rotational magnetic disks to store data.
SSD increase performance by 100+
times on IOPS over drives with mechanical moving
parts. The result translates into a system that can
handle concurrent tasks with almost no latency and
data bottlenecking such as on traditional drives.
Another innovative feature unique to
FM Products is an external display which shows real
time CPU utilization, disk and memory usage at a
glance. These features are a strong indicator of FM
Products' commitment to provide artists and engineers
with solutions that truly count at the critical hour.
Future Medium will be demonstrating
FM Products at NAB Booth # SL 1620. Feel free to
contact Alex Guerra regarding this press release or
any questions regarding FM Products or NAB Specials.
